Baby Swing-No Parent Should Be Without One
First of all, you need to have time for yourself. The only time you get to yourself, is when the baby is sleeping. Most newborns sleep around 18 hours in a day, and you should get at least a little of that time. But, once they are about one month old, they always want your help and attention. A baby swing is the perfect thing to help baby get to sleep. Most of the baby swings play music and get baby to sleep much faster than you can. Also, a baby swing usually helps keep the baby sleeping for longer than they normally would. When the baby is sleeping, this will be your time to do what you want or need to do. Use that time wisely!
Secondly, if you are like me, you need more then 3 hours of sleep. You will not get that consecutively. So that is another way your baby swing comes in handy. A baby swing is a must have. I really do not know what I would have done without mine. They can be a lifesaver at times.
I had two children with colic that practically lived in their baby swings. That and holding them were the only way to soothe them. It also gives mom or dad free time to cook dinner or maybe take a shower.
When all is said and done, consider getting a baby swing or you may get lucky and some one will get you one as a shower present. The purchase will be one of the best things you will ever buy or receive. Not only will you make your baby happy, but mom and dad will be absolutely thrilled!
Baby Swing Buying Guide
Look for baby swings that have a sturdy and stable frame also with strong posts and legs. The baby swing should have a wide stance to prevent tipping. The bottom of the baby swings frame should not go so far that you are likely to trip over them in cramped spaces.
Really look at the seat. It should be very well padded for added comfort for you baby. Also it is important to get one when you can take the padding or seat cover out to wash it. There should also be some sort of post between the baby’s legs to prevent your baby from sliding out. You’ll also want a secure safety belt.
It should also offer a way to recline the baby’s position for snoozing. If you are going to buy a baby swing with a cradle or bassinet attachment, make sure it’s mounted well underneath.
If you go for battery operated baby swing, Bring with you four C or D cell batteries when shopping around to test products in the store and hear the sound of the motor and all the other features your new baby swing may have to offer.
